I’m Trudy Morgan-Cole, author of By the Rivers of Brooklyn. I’m also the author of a bunch of other books, which you can read about here.  Reviews and interviews are posted here. I write mostly historical fiction, and also inspirational fiction and non-fiction for adults and teens.  Who knows, there might even be some contemporary fiction somewhere in the works … I’ll keep you posted.

In the rest of my life, I’m a mom, wife, and adult-education teacher. I spent eleven years teaching high school in Ontario, Alberta, and Newfoundland, then took a seven-year break to have my kids and stay home with them during the preschool years.

I have a B.A. in English and History from Andrews University, a Master’s degree in English and another (M.Ed.) in Counselling Psychology from Memorial University of Newfoundland. I discovered my life’s calling when I went back to work after my stay-at-home mom years and I got a job teaching English and social studies to adult learners at a wonderful school called The Murphy Centre.

I live in St. John’s, Newfoundland, the place where I was born. I attend the same Seventh-day Adventist church my parents took me to when I was a child. I like to think and talk about all kinds of things, so if you want to keep up on how I see the world and what’s happening with me, check out my personal blog.

    Hi Trudy,
While chatting with my dear friend,Carolyn, yesterday she mentioned that she had just finished reading your latest novel and loved it. I inquired about you and the novel and before our conversation was over I was hooked. She is living in St. John’s and I live in Bellingham,WA.
We grew up in Corner Brook and “when are you coming home?” is usually a part of our gab fest.
I will be checking Costco and Barnes n Nobel tomorrow. My book group has always enjoyed my Newfie. stories and I will introduce them to you.
    Can’t wait!
    Dawn

  3. Dawn, please check out the book — it may not be available in your area, but you can buy it online from indigo.ca if you can’t find it in a store. I have a sister-in-law in the same area you’re living in.
